Part of ECO-REFURBISHMENT’s mission is to spread the word – to demonstrate and explain how sensitive renovation can reduce the environmental impact of an old building, while preserving its period features. We deliver talks and presentations on eco-refurbishment issues and we welcome visitors to our showcase home.

Visiting No 73

No 73 Chester Road is open to the public several times a year – for instance on Open House weekend – and can also be visited privately by prior arrangement. The house and its renovations have inspired hundreds of home-owners, architects, builders and interior designers.

It has also received official visits from representatives of official bodies including the Department of Energy and Climate Change, the Energy Saving Trust, the Sustainable Development Commission, Camden Council Housing and Environment Department and Islington Green Living Centre.

In 2008 the House of Commons Communities and Local Government Committee chose 73 Chester Road as the venue for the launch of their report Existing housing and climate change.
